These banners were produced in all the Children's Centres/Sure Starts around the City of Nottingham.  At each centre the chidren painted on the pre made banners using the colourful acrylic paints to make beautiful patterns. This activity often provided children with their first experience of painting. I enjoyed every minute of watching the children's exploration of mark making with paint.

 

The Butterfly Banners were used throughout the Children's Festival at Wollaton Park, the Castle and at Riverside Festival. I am pleased to say they were then loaned to the Girl Guide Association to decorate the 'Countdown 100' site.

 

It was thrilling to watch families arrive at the festivals to seek out their Butterfly Banners, which provided them with a wonderful photographic opportunity.
